Nick Houghton is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 5-11 145 lb. frame from Hamilton, NJ who attends Hamilton North-Nottingham HS. Houghton has a medium build with a lean frame to add strength and fill out. Very quick and loose arm action, deceptive delivery and gets good extension on delivery. command glove side well with fastball. Does good job of keeping arm speed consistent on off speed pitch. Curveball had tight spin and good depth. Hit from a square stance with a wide base. Line drive swing time and repeats swing plane. Good feel for barrel and hits to all fields. Has quiet approach at plate. Defensively, solid actions to ball with a quick first step, working through ball well. Has a quick release with carry on throws. Good Student.
