Kyle Young is a 2016 LHP with a 6-10 205 lb. frame from Syosset, NY who attends St Dominic HS. Extra tall and long build, looks every bit of listed height. Deliberate delivery, slow hand raise with a clean and well timed break, hides ball well behind his body, 3/4's arm slot, could use a high slot comfortable from his delivery mechanics, tends to spin off his front side on release. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, good late sinking life and can work his fastball to both sides of the plate, throws his best pitches glove side. Threw two types of breaking balls, sweeping 2/8 slider his best offering, softer curveball. Flashed a solid change up but rarely used. Has lots of potential with patience while he grows into his body, arm works well. Good student, verbal commitment to Hofstra.
