2020 PG Underclass All American Games
Justin West is a 2022 LHP/1B with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Paducah, KY who attends Paducah Tilghman. Slender young slope shouldered build with lots of physical projection remaining. Fairly fast paced delivery leading to a high 3/4's arm slot, gets on top of his pitches well and levers the ball well to the plate over his front side, repeats his mechanics well. Mid-80's fastball topped out at 87 mph, plenty more velocity in there as he matures physically, fastball was mostly straight. Curveball was his best pitch this outing, gets over it very well, has feel for the pitch and changes speeds and shapes well with it. Showed some nice cutting action on his change up. Strike thrower who works quickly and challenges hitters. Good student, verbal commitment to Louisville.
