Ricky Shimko is a 2018 OF with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Coral Springs, FL who attends Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Large frame, lean, slender build, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.00 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, showed a quick, long arm action from an over the top slot and stayed on top through the ball well. Showed arm strength up to 82 mph and will flash carry. At the plate, started with a spread stance, open base, and a limited weight transfer. Swing worked primarily through the upper half with a linear swing plane. Line drive approach with and worked up the middle consistently. Will continue to improve consistency with additional lower half incorporation and added strength. Very good student.
