Matt Klein is a 2022 C with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Louisville, KY who attends Trinity. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength, long limbs with room to fill and add additional physical strength throughout. Ran a 6.92 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set behind the plate, pops out tall from crouch but is quick and gains some ground with lower half, will continue to refine lower half mechanics, receives the ball out front, very quick release on throws, shows some carry down to second base and athleticism plays in actions. Left-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open stance with a high hand set at the plate. Incorporates physical strength at point of contact with leverage out front, looks to impact the ball to pull side, gets uphill with path at times and swings with intent. Separates nicely in swing out front and ball jumps off the barrel when squared. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to Louisville.
