Gilberto Martinez is a 2016 LHP with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Guaynabo, PR who attends International Baseball Academy. Medium, strongly built, lean frame with room to continue adding strength. Pitches from a high three-quarter arm slot. Needs to work on consistently pitching downhill. Has a consistent, easy, directional delivery. Tops at 83 mph with his fastball and the ball comes out of his hand well. Flashes some cutting actions at times. Mixes a 67 mph curveball with 11-5 depth. Also flashes a changeup, but uses it rarely. Very good student.
