Spenser Smith is a 2018 SS/2B with a 6-0 140 lb. frame from Wellesley, MA who attends Belmont Hill. Medium-Large frame with solid athleticism throughout body; good remaining projection on frame. Posted a 7.19 seconds 60 yard dash time. Hits from upright stance with narrow base, rests bat on shoulder pre-load, leg lift timing mechanism, gets foot down in time, pull-field approach with solid bat speed and hand quickness, made consistently solid contact mostly to pull field, swing mechanics are solid throughout, will be better with added strength. Worked out defensively in the infield. Showed smooth hands when fielding, stays down on the ball well, shows athleticism moving to the ball with solid footwork, transfers quickly and cleanly and shows quick release, accurate throws across the IF topped at 77 MPH. Very good student.
