Joe Boyle is a 2017 RHP with a 6-6 225 lb. frame from O'Fallon, MO who attends Ft. Zumwalt West HS. Extra large physical build, still young in the face and in the body and growing into his coordination, could develop into a really intimidating presence on the mound. Side step/leg raise delivery, stays directional well, smooth and easy arm stroke, ball comes out of his hand easily, has deception and hitters don't see his fastball well. Fastball topped out at 93 mph, sat at 92 mph, mostly straight but thrown to spots, repeats his mechanics very well for a big young pitcher. Mid-70's curveball shows quality spin and depth at times, not as consistent with his curveball release as his fastball release yet. Has a chance to be very, very good once he matures into his body. Good student, verbal commitment to Notre Dame. Selected for the Perfect Game All-American Classic.
