Jacob Conover is a 2019 C/OF with a 5-10 195 lb. frame from Middletown, DE who attends Appoquinimink High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and nice present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 5.23 40-yard dash. Primary catcher, athletic and low set behind the plate, quick footwork coming out of crouch and gains ground well, compact actions with quick transfer and release, gets on top of throws with nice carry out of hand, 1.93 best pop, accurate throws to the bag. Righthanded hitter, begins with a narrow and balance stance in the box with a medium hand set. Short leg lift trigger with a stride moving into contact. Does a nice job of staying short to the ball with a compact swing path, occasionally strides onto front side early. Contact approach and creates line drive contact with a linear swing plane, comes off the barrel well. Very good student.
