Alex Bowden is a 2018 LHP/OF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Flushing, MI who attends Flushing. Medium, athletic frame with solid present build; body projects well moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.74 seconds. Primary pitcher, throws from high three quarters arm slot with good downhill plane, showed clean arm action and repeatable, online delivery. Very smooth and athletic on the mound, Fastball worked 76-79 MPH with good running life to the arm side. Curveball showed 2/7 shape with good depth; flashed changeup with fading action and good arm speed. Did a good job filling up the zone. Sets up to hit slightly crouched over with simple toe tap timer. Very fast hands with strength and bat speed, gets the head out and drives the ball consistently, has HR power and can go to both gaps. Clears hips well and generates torque; very good hitting mechanics overall. Worked out in the outfield, twitchy actions with good footwork and athleticism, fields cleanly and works through the ball, showed good arm strength with accuracy and carry on throws, clocked up to 84 MPH. Excellent student, named to 2016 Great Lakes Showcase Top Prospect List.
