Chris Rote is a 2018 1B/ with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Indian Land, SC who attends Indian Land High School. Medium build, has some height and build to his frame. Primary first baseman, two handed fielder, some strength, developing arm speed, decent throws across the diamond, has some fluidity to his defensive skills. Offensively, open start, high hand set, high back elbow, heavy pull side hitter, ball has some carry off the bat, hits the ball out in front, decent strength, power projection is there, some bat speed, looks to take advantage of ability to drive the baseball to the pull side, has some feel for the barrel, timing is good as he gets the bat head out in front. Good student.
