James Nix is a 2017 RHP with a 6-4 205 lb. frame from Huntsville, AL who attends Madison Academy. Tall slope shouldered build, has some present strength with room for more. High arm circle in back, 3/4's arm slot, tight low elbow release. Fastball topped out at 86 mph, mostly straight with occasional sink down in the zone, will also get cutting action at times, works his fastball to both sides of the plate and looks to spot it. Tends to slow arm on curveball, soft spin, will need to improve his breaking ball to take the next step in his development. Very good student.
