Isaiah Mirabal is a 2017 C with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Bayside, NY who attends Benjamin N Cardozo High School. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a strong, mature build with present strength throughout frame. Ran a 7.49 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, begins with a low set behind the plate, comes out of the crouch well and gains ground with lower half, quick footwork, quick transfer and gets the ball out of glove, fundamentally sound, solid arm strength and carry down to second base with plenty of carry and accuracy to the bag. Similar quick transfer and short arm action in the infield, quick arm and gets on top of throws, carry and accuracy to throws across diamond, balanced while charging in. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Uses a small leg lift trigger for timing at start of swing, upper body dominant swing, quick hands and generates solid bat speed through the zone. Found the barrel frequently in live actions, showed solid jump off the barrel with a long home run to deep center field, shows ability to leverage balls out front. Line drive swing plane and looks to create lift, short to the ball with sound bat speed. good student. Named to Northeast Top-Top Prospect List.
