Elliot Carney is a 2016 RHP/3B with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Sammamish, WA who attends Eastlake HS. Tall athletic build with good present strength and room for more. Graded out better as a position prospect this event. Right handed hitter with a spread stance, limited shift to contact, loose extended swing with some length out front, good present bat speed, consistently drove the ball hard and with power in the games, lots of extra base hits and gap power, top performance hitter of the event. Tools and skills for first base defensively. Tall drifting delivery on the mound, early hand separation with a deep hand stab in back, high 3/4's arm slot, lands open and tends to fall off to the first base side. Fastball topped out at 78 mph, mostly straight, also threw a mid-70's 2-seamer that had good sink and was consistently at the bottom of the zone. Short curveball with occasional 12/6 downer chape, has some projection on the mound with some adjustments. Bat really stood out in the games. Good student.
