R.J. Galvan is a 2018 OF/LHP with a 5-10 176 lb. frame from Alice, TX who attends Ben Bolt Palito Blanco HS. Medium athletic build, has some present strength for his age with more to come. Left handed hitter, big leg raise load, occasionally late getting his foot down, swings hard and stays balanced, uses his lower half well, has some lift in his swing, looks to pull and drive the ball, projects lots of power if he can get strong, nice approach that is well executed. 7.25 runner, compact arm action in the outfield with some developing arm strength. Also pitched, builds momentum well through his delivery, smooth easy arm action thru a high 3/4's slot, will get off balance at release. Fastball to 77 mph, mostly straight with occasional tailing life, threw strikes consistently with his fastball. Nice mid 60's curveball with good depth and command. Showed some polish on the mound and had an effective outing. Good student.
