Frank Carlson is a 2015 OF/RHP/1B with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Kodiak, AK who attends Kodiak HS. Slender young athletic build. Runs well, 6.84 in the sixty. Young defensive actions, low slinging release angle on throws, tends to stop at the ball, tools and athleticism to improve with improved fundamentals. Right handed hitter, big late leg lift trigger, big stride into contact, tends to lose balance, aggressive swings with the beginnings of some bat speed, looks to pull the ball. Also pitched, low 3/4's to side arm release point. Fastball topped at 71 mph, gets good sinking and running action and is tough on right handed hitters, big sweeping breaking ball, gets the ball to the glove side well. Good student.
