2015 Caribbean Top Prospect Showcase
Jaime Miranda is a 2016 LHP with a 5-11 163 lb. frame from Aguada, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Medium build, has some present strength with more to come. Slow paced delivery with a side step start, compact arm action that hides the ball well, 3/4's arm slot coming through, tilts head during delivery. Upper 70's fastball, topped out at 81 mph early, gets occasional hard running and sinking action. Primary slider pitcher, has better command of his slider than his fastball and throws it often, has tight spin and good shape, will occasionally drop lower on the slider for a bigger deeper sweeping action. Showed a change up in warm ups only. Very good student.
