Chase Gray is a 2018 OF with a 5-8 149 lb. frame from Hudson, NC who attends South Caldwell HS. Gray has a medium sized frame with a lean build. Defensively he throws with a short arm action with arm strength up to 71 MPH from the outfield. Gray is quick to the ball in the outfield and has solid actions. He gets under his throws which limit velocity and carry. On the infield he showed good athleticism with solid transfers and release. At the plate, Gray starts with an open stance with a hand drop load. He hits the ball to all fields and has line drive pop. He has developing strength and bat speed in his swing. Gray pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action. He threw an 11/5 curveball with developing shape and spin to it. Very good student.
