Everett Owens is a 2019 MIF/RHP, C, 3B, OF with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Euless, TX who attends Colleyville Heritage. Medium frame with a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary middle infielder with clean footwork while surrounding the baseball. Displayed soft, fluid glove actions while funneling with quick transfers. Baseball came out of hand cleanly producing accurate, on line carry across the infield at 77 miles per hour. Also worked out defensively from behind the plate showing a narrow, even stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground while working out of crouch. Loose arm circle while working through exchange and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produce solid carry to the bag at 73 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.09. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and large leg lift trigger. Created some line shift into contact with lower half. Loose path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Created good extension out front and stayed balanced throughout. Primarily worked the ball on a line to the middle of the field but flashed the barrel control to work the other way as well. Also pitched utilizing a side step to medium leg lift delivery. Creates slight coil and stays tall on back side at gather. Worked to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Quick arm circle and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball produced occasional downhill tilt through the zone in the mid 70's, topped at 76 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with looser spin and good depth. Also flashed a tight spinning slider with shorter tilt to glove side. Consistently looked to challenge hitter and work ahead in counts with fastball offering. Outstanding student as well.
