David Rowe is a 2019 SS/RHP with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Newberry, FL who is home schooled. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects for additional size and strength with continued physical maturity. Ran a 7.67 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop with clean, athletic footwork while ranging to and surrounding the baseball. Clean glove actions with developing fluidity while funneling the baseball out front. Maintained momentum well while working to the bag and released from a mid three-quarters arm slot. Generated on line carry to the bag topping at 79 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, event stance and high back elbow set. Created occasional shift into baseball with rotational lower half actions. Hands load to a deep, strong position and launch on an uphill plane through finish. Produced good extension through baseball while flashing solid barrel control through the zone. Primarily utilized a mid-field approach and consistently squared up contact throughout batting practice. Also pitched showing quick paced side step delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and drives to the plate with good on line direction through finish. Clears hips well at landing point and carries momentum to the plate. Deeper arm circle back at separation and released from a mid to low three-quarters arm slot. Created occasional short running action with a fastball that topped at 76 miles per hour. Tends to slow arm speed with a straight changeup that flashed some sinking action down in the zone. Primarily look to get ahead and stay ahead with fastball offering, will continue to develop with further implementation of off speed pitches. Very good student as well.
