Riley Beck is a 2018 SS/3B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Cedar Rapids, IA who attends Xavier. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength. Primary shortstop with clean footwork while surrounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball out front with fluid actions. Smooth, efficiently glove to hand exchanges. Compact arm circle and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced on line carry across the infield topping at 82 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a crouched, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Loose path to contact with an uphill plane through extension. Swung with intent and flashed solid barrel whip through the zone. Primarily looked to work to the middle of the field but flashed the present bat speed to work to pull side as well. Good student.
