Owen Carstensen is a 2017 SS/OF, 2B, RHP with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Marion, IA who attends Marion. Lean build with room to fill out and add strength. Hits from a square stance, mid field approach with good extension and bat speed through contact. Flashed good gap power with a quick bat. Runs well and sixty time translate to baseball speed. Defensively, short compact arm action, gets low to field and has good hands and feet. Projects more as second baseman and next level. Also pitched, short arm action, over the dop arm slot. Drop and drive mechanics. Around zone with fastball and creates good down angle on fastball. Repeats delivery and shows some arm whip on release. Curveball had 12/6 shape and flashed depth. Good Student.
