Ethan Chipps is a 2017 LHP/OF with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Ankeny, IA who attends Ankeny Centennial High School. Long lean build, has present strength in body and can add more. High 3/4 arm slot with good arm speed and whip through release. Fastball flashed arm side run and creates good down angle. Velocity projects. Ball comes out of hand cleans and gets on hitters. Flashed good arm speed on straight change up, and curveball has 1/7 shape with good depth and fell for it. Tends to land slightly closed and on a soft bent front knee, has upside on mound. Good Student.
