JJ Darst is a 2025 C/RHP/3B with a 5-9 180 lb. frame from Mason, OH who attends William Mason. Big and strong athletic build. 7.82 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, has lower half life and comes out of his crouch quickly with good balance, has nice fundamentals and energy blocking balls, plenty of arm strength with good on line carry. Also played third base and has plenty of athleticism and arm strength for that position as well. Right handed hitter, hits from a open stance with a late big leg raise load that can leave him off timed, swings hard and creates bat speed, torques his lower half well, has pull side power and the ball comes off his barrel hard. Also pitched, big side step start with a short stride out front, will throw in hesitations and vary his leg raise, 3/4's to high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 77 mph with consistent big running action, also threw a 12/6 downer curveball. Threw strikes with both pitches and has an idea on the mound. Nice young player with strength and baseball skills. Named to the 13U/14U Ohio Valley Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
