Dylan Erickson is a 2017 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Hilton Head Island, SC who attends Hilton Head High School. Large build, lean, athletic frame, broad shoulders, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Primary right handed pitcher, started with a short rocker step, higher leg lift past belt, longer, loose arm action, big arm circle, and threw from a three quarter arm slot. Landed closed with a heel turn finish down the mound with clean glove side mechanics. Cuts extension through the ball with a very deliberate tempo on the mound. Fastball worked 80-84 mph with mostly true action and occasional cut. Curveball was best pitch with power 11/5 shape. Up to 70 mph with the ability to pitch backwards and get over for strikes. Was most effective when working off curveball. Will continue to improve with additional lower half and keeping fastball low in the zone. Also worked out as a first basemen, athletic bend to ball, athletic through the ball with an accurate arm. At the plate, started with a wide base, open stance, high hand set, high back elbow, and a large leg lift timing mechanism. Line drive swing plane and shifted well to the ball. Flashed leverage with a pull side and up the middle approach. Smooth barrel through the zone with raw feel for timing. Named to Top Prospect List.
