Cal Goss is a 2022 OF/RHP with a 6-1 140 lb. frame from Cartersville, GA who attends Cartersville. Very slender young build with lots of room to get stronger. Two-way player who graded out better as a pitcher at this event and whose physical profile fits the mound better as well. Throws from a 3/4's arm slot on the mound with good hip and lower half turn and use, mechanics are fluid and his arm works well while repeating his mechanics. Fastball topped out at 82 mph while working mostly in the upper 70's, more velocity there with additional strength, keeps fastball down in the zone well. Change up has nice sinking life and consistent arm speed. Curveball flashed 11/5 depth at times. Showed an idea how to mix his pitches and projects well physically. 7.54 runner, showed his arm strength well from the outfield with sound fundamental footwork and actions through the ball. Right handed hitter, rotational hitter, front side tends to fly off early, downhill contact oriented swing, hits to all fields. Excellent student.
