Evan Reifert is a 2017 RHP/ with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Wilton, IA who attends Wilton. Large frame with long limbs and a strong, athletic build. Primary right handed pitcher with a smooth paced side step delivery. Coil at load over back leg at balance showing numbers. Stays balanced at gather and utilized lower half well while driving to the plate, tends to land at a slightly closed position at times creating some cross fire action at release. Medium arm circle and works form a three-quarters arm slot with a fastball that topped at 88 miles per hour. Showed good feel to the edges of the plate with fast that flashed good downhill plane through the zone. Curveball had 9/4 shape with tight rotation and solid sweeping tilt. Has to feel for curveball to locate on the outside edge of the plate and can double up with offering. Flashed a changeup with occasional wiggle and downhill plane in the low 80's. Consistently filled the zone and attacked hitters inducing weak contact. Also hit from the right side of the plate showing a spread, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Hands load to a deep position prior to launching on a loose, extended path to contact. Barrel comes through the zone with some natural lift with present bat speed and strength. When on time and squared, flashed very good raw power to the pull side gap. Very good student. Committed to NIACC.
