Garrett Macias is a 2018 C/3B with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from FPO, AP who attends Matthew C Perry. Macias has a medium sized frame with a lean athletic build. Defensively he has a high set up behind the plate on his pop throws with a pre-loaded set up. Macias has a 2 piece arm action and has clean transfers. He has developing arm strength up to 71 MPH with good accuracy. At the plate, Macias starts with an open stance with a wide base. He uses a knee load trigger and swings down to the baseball. He has some length to his swing and has some bat speed. Macias has good rhythm to his swing with some pop to the pull side. He showed projectable hitting tools with some upside. Outstanding student.
