TJ Scuderi is a 2018 OF/RHP, SS with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Beachwood, NJ who attends Toms River South. Medium frame with an athletic build and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional size and strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.95 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth, athletic footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling and working through exchange. Long arm circle at separation and released from a loose three-quarters arm slot generating stiff, accurate carry to the bag topping at 84 miles per hour. Also worked out from the infield showing same fluidity while working to and rounding the baseball. Clean funnels out front with solid range to each side. Flashed good arm strength again topping at 86 miles per hour across. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Swung with intent on a loose, slightly lifted plane through extension. Present bat speed and strength at contact and created hard, loud contact that produced solid carry to each outfield gap. Also pitched working exclusively from the stretch with a simple leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and utilizes lower half well while working to the plate. Created good downhill angle through the zone from a three-quarters arm slot producing short run to arm side in the low to mid 80's, topped at 86 miles per hour. Flashed solid feel for both curveball and slider offering. Slider had tight spin with sharp, late tilt to glove side in the mid 70's. Curveball came out of hand with a similar slot as slider, but was able to generated more depth and change eye level. Consistently filled the zone with all three pitchers inducing weak contact and missing barrels. Named to the 2017 Sunshine Northeast Showcase Top Prospect List.
