Dexter Redding, Il is a 2019 SS/ with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends Arlington Christian. Compact frame with a lean, athletic build. Body projects for additional size with strength. Ran a 7.02 sixty-yard dash. Primary shortstop, showed good footwork with athletic actions while moving to and surrounding the baseball. Quick hands while working through transition and released from a low three-quarters arm slot topping at 71 miles per hour. Throws generated some carry with accuracy across the infield that will continue to develop with physical maturity. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance with a large leg lift trigger. Lower half launches to contact with rotational actions producing occasional shift. Hands launch on an uphill plane through extension with compact extension through finish. Consistently squared up contact throughout batting practice generating ground ball, line drive contact to the middle of the field. Also pitched showing an event set up with a simple side step delivery from the middle of the rubber. Medium leg kick to belt at balanced and drives to the plate with good in line momentum through finish. Primarily released from a three-quarters arm slot with a fastball that sat between 66-69 miles per hour with some sinking action. Tends to drop arm slot slightly with curveball offering that flashed 12/6 shape with occasional depth at 56 miles per hour. Flashed the ability to repeat arm action at times and spot up to each edge of the plate. Finished at a very balanced position at release allowing for good athleticism off the mound. Tools will continue to develop with future physical maturity.
