Alejandro Renteria is a 2022 C/3B with a 5-9 187 lb. frame from Sonora, TX who attends Sonora. Medium frame with strong, physical build; ran 60 yard dash in 8.14 seconds. Hits from slightly open stance, closes off with front hip in load, high back elbow, toe tap trigger, quality bat speed and strength combination, gets behind the ball well, showed the ability to drive the ball when on time. Primary catcher, side-saddle set, receives well out front, moves out and around the plate to throw down, has arm strength, throws stay on line with good accuracy, clocked up to 72 mph. Also took infield reps, has quality actions with hands out front, fields cleanly, shows good balance to work through, clocked up to 74 mph on throws across.
