Blake Bortak is a 2020 OF/LHP with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Monroe, GA who attends Archer. Medium frame with narrow shoulders and room to fill. Ran a 6.51 second 60 yard dash, speed shows up in game with quick first steps and disruption on the bases. Primary outfielder, moves quickly to the baseball reading the ball well off of the bat, clean footwork moving through the ball and carrying weight to target, plenty of fluidity leading into release, loose arm action with plenty of arm strength topping out at 86 mph from the outfield. Secondary lefthanded pitcher, arm works from a full arm action up to a low 3/4 arm slot, comes down the mound with a short stride landing closed, fills up the strike zone with a fastball up to 84 mph, slider flashed short biting action in the mid-70s, changeup is firm with maintained arm speed. Righthanded hitter, hanging leg lift trigger to begin swing drifting into contact, accelerates hips and hands as front foot lands, quick hands to the baseball showing the ability to turn the barrel over, creates leverage and has present bat speed, barrel feel that will only improve with some refinement. Good student. Named to 2018 Southeast Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
