Ben Timblin is a 2024 OF/RHP, 2B, SS with a 6-0 157 lb. frame from Signal Mountain, TN who attends Signal Mountain. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.12 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, moves well to the ball with a sound first step, fields the ball out front and works through it nicely, works on line with throws and shows nice accuracy with present carry out of hand. Also pitched, simple mechanics on the mound with a belt high leg lift, quick arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 77 mph, velocity comes easy and projects well moving forward, showed a curveball in the low-70s with short depth. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a simple leg lift for timing and can continue to implement additional lower half shift into swing. Does a nice job of staying short to the ball with looseness to swing. Works on a mostly linear swing plane, contact oriented approach and projects with added strength, shows some carry to the opposite field when squared. Excellent student.
