Juan Olivarez is a 2021 1B/3B with a 6-4 225 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Channelview HS. Large frame with a strong build and broad shoulders. Ran a 7.45 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary first baseman. Deep funnel up to the body. Clean glove work with soft hands. Smooth footwork through transfer as well as when coming off the bag. Throws have some carry across topping out at 78 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with a slightly open stance. Utilizes a simple leg lift trigger for timing. Ball comes off the bat well when squared. Longer swing path with a slightly lifted plane. Pull side approach with some linear shift into contact.
