Jonathan Laney is a 2023 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Cincinnati, OH who attends Milford. Tall and slender frame. Ran a 7.58 60-yard dash. Primary LHP with an above the belt leg kick, high three-quarter arm slot and full upper body follow through. Fastball sat 68-73 and came in on a steep downhill plane. Has some sinking action to when located down in the zone. Breaking ball is a low 50's curve, slows the arm speed on it, and has more of a sweeping action to it. Throws some strikes with both. In the outfield has a patient approach, not much momentum to or through the baseball, fields it off to the side, gathers feet and shows long arm action on throws. Hit from an upright and open stance, big leg lift timing, casts barrel, made some contact with an up the middle approach.
