Jay Beshears is a 2020 SS/RHP with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Naples, FL who attends Community School Of Naples. Tall and lanky build with lots of physical projection, athletic look. 6.94 runner, fields the ball cleanly out front in the middle infield with soft hands and good footwork, shows good arm strength for his age with more to come. Right handed hitter, tall stance with a high hand load, downward swing plane, line drive contact to all fields, has some young bat speed, showed the ability to work counts and is a patient hitter. Also pitched, low 3/4's arm slot, arm is loose and easy in that slot, solid delivery he repeats well. Fastball topped out at 82 mph with nice running action. Slider was big and consistent, commanded both pitches well and was able to work in and out to hitters and keep them off balance. Rare change up. Has a chance to develop on the mound as well. Very good student.
