Benjamin Barrera is a 2024 SS/RHP/C with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends Cypress Lakes. Good athlete with solid lowers. In the infield, he looks the part at the spot with present arm speed and decent feel for the leather. Athletic mover in either direction. Shows as polished. At the dish, narrow start with simple stride, fires hard with quality bat and hand speed. Tends to cut it off a bit but finds barrel middle to pull side. On the mound, works with cross fire delivery and release coming out of a low three-quarters slot. Fastball command was sharp to both side with running life to the offering. Breaker displayed varying depth but liked it better as a deceptive hard slider coming from behind the right handed hitter. Definite secondary guy but usable piece as a future righty specialist. 7.01 60-yard. Outstanding student. Named to the Top Prospect list.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
