2017 Midwest Underclass Showcase
Cameron Crain is a 2019 LHP/ with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Lees Summit, MO who attends Lees Summit West. Large frame with long limbs and a lean build. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Primary left handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. High leg lift and stays balanced at gather. Works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands in line with the plate and carries momentum to glove side at finish. Deep arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball jumped out of hand well producing heavy run to arm side in the low to mid 80's, topped at 85 miles per hour. Flashed two planes with breaking ball each showing tight spin with late depth. Maintains arm speed with a changeup offering that had late sink with slight fade in the mid 70's. Flashed some feel for each pitched when duplicated arm action and maintaining balance through finish. Frame and arm actions project for additional velocity with continued maturity. Good student. Named to the 2017 Midwest Underclass Showcase, Top Prospect List.
