Tyler Williams is a 2018 RHP/C with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Magnolia, TX who attends Magnolia HS. Medium frame with long limbs and an athletic build. Frame projects for additional size with strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a smooth paced side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall and balance on back side at gather and works to the plate with tall and fall actions. Loose arm circle at take back and released from three-quarters slot. Fastball flashed occasional downhill tilt through the zone. Tends to slow arm speed slightly with a breaking ball that had 12/6 shape with loose spin and some depth. Also flashed a knuckleball in the low 60's that showed some flutter. Looked to change speeds and showed the willingness to pitch backwards when needed. Also worked out defensively from behind the plate showing a narrow, slightly taller stance. Gains some ground while working out of crouch with loose footwork. Clean glove circle and released from a compact three-quarters slot topping at 74 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.09. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and hell up trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose path to baseball with a level, line drive barrel plane through extension. Kept swing very simple and looked to work the ball to the middle of the field. Consistently barreled baseball showing the ability to repeat barrel plane well. Good student.
