Eddie Blake is a 2020 C/RHP, 1B, 3B with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Moneta, VA who attends Staunton River. Large frame with slender, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.38 seconds. Hits from slightly open stance, inverted toe tap trigger, active hands into load, solid contact skills, shifts well into swing, will drive the ball more and more as he continues to gain strength. Worked out behind the plate, flexes well into set, stands straight up to throw, gets occasionally misdirected in footwork, clocked up to 74 mph on throws. Solid performance on the mound, deceptive delivery with late effort, gets on top well, compact arm stroke, hides the ball well, fastball worked 77-80 mph with good sink, mixed in curveball with sweeping shape and solid changeup as well. Very good student.
