Josh Mallitz is a 2020 RHP/1B with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Tampa Jesuit. Tall and projectable prototypical pitcher's build. Extended 3/4's arm slot, gets downhill well, good arm speed coming through, starts with his front side severely closed and often doesn't get it open on time, some energy at release. Fastball worked mostly in the upper 80's, topped out at 90 mph, had good heavy life down in the zone. Threw both a curveball and a slider, slider is the better pitch right now with a more consistent release and better spin, tended to slow his arm from a lower arm slot on his change up. Key to development will be in his ability to simplify and learn to repeat his mechanics. Verbal commitment to Mississippi.
