Matthew Clay is a 2019 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Henderson, TX who attends Hallsville HS. Slender young athletic build. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance, aggressive swing approach, tends to be late triggering his swing, rotational upper body swing, mid field to opposite field contact. 7.23 runner, moves well in the infield defensively and has good footwork getting in front of the ball, makes accurate throws with good carry. Also pitched, back turn delivery with a big leg raise, high 3/4's arm slot, tends to under rotate in his delivery and land closed, has energy at release. Good student.
