Clyde Hunter is a 2019 C/3B with a 5-8 175 lb. frame from Montclair, NJ who attends Montclair. Medium frame with a solid, strong build. Projects for additional size and strength. Primary catcher with a slightly taller, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground while working out of crouched with clean, loose exchanges. Released from a compact three-quarters arm slot generating softer, accurate carry to the bag. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance. Stays on back side with rotational lower half actions to contact. Loose, extended hand path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Primarily worked to the middle of the field, but flashed the bat speed and strength to drive the ball through the gaps when on time and squared. Good student as well.
