Levi Davidson is a 2017 OF/LHP with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Dakota City, NE who attends Home School. Medium frame with a lean build. Projects for additional size with strength. Primary outfielder with smooth, fundamental footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling with clean glove to hand exchanges while working through transition. Gets the baseball out quickly with a compact arm circle back and releasing from a three-quarters slot. Topped at 86 mph generating accurate, on line carry to the bag. Left handed hitter with an upright open stance and high back elbow set. Lower half shows linear actions into contact creating some shift. Direct, compact path to contact with a naturally lifted swing plane through extension. Consistently works the middle of the field and creating good jump off the barrel when clearing hips. Flashed the ability to turn barrel to pitches in and create loud contact to the pull side gap when squared. Also pitched showing a simple side step to leg lift delivery. Creates slight shoulder curl at gather but stays tall on backside. Utilizes lower half while driving to the plate with slight drop and drive actions. Medium arm circle back and separation and releases from an extended, high three-quarters slot. Fastball has good downward angle to the plate in the mid 70's, topped at 76 mph. Curveball has 12/6 shape with some spin and good depth when located down in the zone. Consistently pounded the bottom of the strike zone with both pitches inducing weak ground ball contact. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity. Excellent student as well.
