Elias Stevens is a 2019 C/1B/OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Ballwin, MO who attends Christian Brothers College HS. Athletic frame with present strength throughout. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary catcher with a balanced, slightly side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground with quick, clean footwork while working out of crouch. Looser glove circle while working through exchange and released from a compact three-quarters slot. Throws produced stiff, accurate carry to the bag topping at 79 miles per hour. Best workout pop time of 1.96. Also worked out defensively from from the infield showing smooth footwork while working to and surrounding the baseball. Fluid glove actions while funneling and worked through exchange well. Created accurate carry to the bag while releasing from a three-quarters slot, topped at 83 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a balanced, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Clean hand path to baseball with a naturally leverage barrel plane. Displayed present bat speed and strength through the zone while employing a gap to gap approach. Consistently threw the barrel with authority and produced loud, hard contact. Good student. Named to the 2019 National Indoor Showcase, Top Prospect List.
