David Shoemaker is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from State College, PA who attends State College Area HS. Medium athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. Loose and easy arm stroke from a 3/4's slot, has some effort at release and could get over his front side better, creates good angle to the plate. Low 80's fastball, topped out at 83 mph, mostly straight, works to spots with his fastball. Has a nice feel for spinning the ball, good tightness on his slider and works it to both sides of the plate. Right handed hitter, short inside swing path, upper half swing with limited lower half, hits to all fields and flashed some power. Very good student.
