Jack Mahoney is a 2018 LHP with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Latham, NY who attends Shaker HS. Recorded a 7.17 second 60-yard dash time. Medium frame with room to fill out and add strength. Primary lefthanded pitcher with a simple rocker step into a methodical overall delivery. Leg lift up to the waist with an easy and online arm action. Stays tall on the backside with a slight hip turn near the top of the gather. Hides the ball well and delivery from an extended three-quarters arm slot. Good changeup and shows confidence in the pitch with late tumbling life. Mixed in a hard slider that functioned best as a cutter with mostly short, horizontal movement. Repeats delivery very well and works quickly. Fields position well and has a pretty clean delivery. Works through his hips well and can get the ball over to both sides easily. Short arm side life to the fastball and whip to the arm. Rhythm to the delivery and projects nicely.
