Daniel Cohen is a 2022 RHP/SS with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Gansevoort, NY who attends South Glens Falls Senior. He has a tall frame with a lanky build and plenty of room to add strength. Primary right-handed pitcher that works primarily from the stretch and uses a high leg kick in his motion and sits into his back hip well, utilizing drop-and-drive back leg mechanics. He has nice tempo to his delivery and is able to repeat his motion consistently. He uses a short and compact arm action with a slight stab in the back, and fires from a 3/4 arm slot. He has smooth actions on the mound and is explosive at release, allowing his fastball to sit 87-88 mph and touched 89 mph. He used his fastball to pound the low and outside corner, frequently working ahead of hitters. His curveball has 11-5 shape with late bite and plenty of depth. He also features a nice slider that has sharp cut and the ability to consistently land it in the zone for called strikes. His changeup has excellent late sink, resulting in swings and misses when working it off the fastball. He showed impressive command over all four pitches and did a nice job of changing pace, making it hard on opposing hitters. Excellent student. Committed to Yale.
