Michael Hobbs is a 2017 RHP/OF with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Corona, CA who attends Corona HS. Big athletic build with lots of present strength. Drop and drive delivery mechanics with some back side collapse, energy at release but repeats his mechanics well. Works down in the zone well with a fastball up to 88 mph, gets nice running life often. Slider has good tilt and late biting action. Throws both pitches for strikes down in the zone and fits the sinker/slider profile. Did not observe a change up. Good student, verbal commitment to St. Mary's.
