William Slayne is a 2016 RHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Dedham, MA who attends St Sebastians School. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and a projectable build with room to fill out. Primary right-handed pitcher, short arm action in the back with a tight three-quarter arm slot at release. Full hand path in delivery with high leg lift, does a nice job of repeating delivery. Low effort release on fastball, filled up the strike zone while working down, shows short running life to arm side and induces ground ball contact, held velocity throughout. Projects with continued incorporation of lower half into release. Curveball showed 11-5 shape, upper-60s offering with a nice feel for pitch, throws for strikes and flashes depth. Turned changeup over, throws to arm side and for strikes at 71 mph. Excellent student.
